"Regrets, I've had a few. But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do and saw it through without exception."
I just came from a wedding. It was a happy wedding. The mother of the bride cried tears of joy. Everyone's smiling. The bride was glowing. The groom was ecstatic. It was a happy wedding.
But I couldn't help thinking how long such happiness would last. The wedding will just last a day but the marriage should last forever. Would it? Could it? Should it? Nowadays, it's uncommon for us to hear of people getting married without the bride being pregnant. We now live in a world of practicality whereas our parents once lived in a world of romance.
Why write sordid love letters when you can send emails or better yet e-cards?
Why give fresh roses when you can have paper roses that look fresher?
Why call when you can text?
Why visit when you can see each other through webcam?
So why get married unless you have to?
As much as I'm practical, I have to say I'm a romantic at heart.
Because..
I prefer love letters bec. I can keep it in a box and read it again and again until the pages turn yellow
I prefer fresh roses bec. I like going through the trouble of hanging it out to dry so I can keep it in the same box as my love letters
I like it when he calls bec. I can hear his voice
I love it when he visits bec. we can cuddle and hug
So if I'm gonna marry, when I'm gonna marry it wouldn't be bec. I have to, it would be because I want to, because I choose to.
