I was just in the shower this morning and I thought of the jellyfish eggs we found in Tabuelan last week. Then it occurred to me, are eggs living or non-living?
Is it a thing because it's nothing but a shell or is it worth more respect because of the promise of life within?
If you break the egg, that life will die. But then again, is that embryo even considered a living thing?
What is life anyway? And when does it begin?
Does life start at the moment of conception, on that fateful crossroad of the egg and the sperm cells, or does it start at birth when you draw your first breath?
Is that the reason why they call dead newborn babies "stillbirths" because they haven't breathed?
Because if they haven't lived, how can they be dead right? ..so they're stillbirths.. still at birth.
Hmm.. I still haven't come up with an answer yet. What do you think?
