Monkey Business on a Merry-Go-Round

The politics in our country is a mess. It's a never ending tunnel of scandals and corruption. The top position no longer holds the respect it used to but is none the less coveted. Everybody wants to be the President. Everyone wants to run the country. All of us has something to say. NONE of us knows what to do.

The bomb went off with the controversial NBN ZTE DEAL then everything went out of place. We get a lot of testimonies from a lot of people, everyone claiming they're the ones telling the truth. The Malacanang throws off a unity walk (technically a video coverage of the Palace people walking arm in arm to show they're united). Then the United Opposition gives their version of unity walk. Then the Student Council Heads.. What do you know, soon everyone is walking around in front of cameras with their arms linked to each other making a "statement". Personally I'd have to say there are too many walks, too many statements... I don't think I even care anymore. Our country is run by a bunch of hypocrites. We have senators who change their minds faster than they process bills. We currently have an allegedly corrupt President who got her seat by ousting a former President charged with plunder and corruption. Now what would seal the deal of hilarity is that this ousted President, who was granted Presidential Pardon not so long ago, is now walking on the streets and heading rallies urging the people to revolt against the "corruption" of the current government!

We are indeed a sad lot. For those who care, I found this link:
In these times, faced with these circumstances, it is better if we're informed. We cannot afford to make irrational decisions because we will suffer the consequences. I hope tomorrow, in ten years or so, our kids will be proud to say, "I am a Filipino".
